China's Excavator Sales Up 19.3% in August 2026; Exports Surge 32.7%

According to the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), excavator sales in China totaled 19,716 units in August 2026, up 19.3% year-on-year.

• Domestic sales: 7,986 units (+3.92% YoY), including 184 electric excavators

• Exports: 11,730 units (+32.7% YoY), including 60 electric excavators

January–August 2026: Total sales reached 191,557 units, up 24.2% YoY. Domestic sales stood at 94,619 units (+17.4% YoY, including 411 electric units); exports hit 96,938 units (+31.8% YoY, including 257 electric units).

Key Highlights

1. Exports continued to outpace domestic growth, reinforcing the growing importance of overseas markets.

2. Domestic demand stayed solid, driven by construction and infrastructure activity.

3. Electric excavators are steadily gaining ground in both domestic and overseas sales.
